Dogs in hats for charity – what more do you want? Award-winning milliner Awon Golding brought together 11 other milliners, including Philip Treacy and Rachel Trevor-Morgan, to fashion hats for rescue dogs. Pet photographer Rachel Oates shot the canine supermodels – and the result is a loving collection of 12 calendar portraits, sold in aid of London dog rescue charity All Dogs Matter.
Awon adopted her mutt Stevie (pictures above) from All Dogs Matter four years ago. The brindle girl accompanies Awon to work, just as many design studios are made warmer (and fluffier) with dogs. But not just any dog – Awon says about the calendar: “Our dream is that others will also benefit from the loving companionship of a rescue dog and that perceptions of so-called ‘less desirable’ dogs are changed.”
Haute Dogs is now crowdfunded on Indiegogo: buy the calendar for £19 – or a custom-made hat by Awon for £500. The campaign runs for one month, to raise funds for All Dogs Matter. Christmas shopping starts early!
