Wunderdog Christmas wish list part 1: things for your dog to snuggle

Snuggle up, in, to – as long as it keeps our pooches warm and happy during winter, we want it. Here are five of our favourites to put under the tree for your beloved dog

1. Fetch & Follow Sherpa fleece jacket

You know those winter walks when you put all your favourite soft and warm things on at once? Those walks where the snow or frozen sand crumble under every step, you can see your breath – and hear the pub’s fire place already roar? This is your dog’s outfit for those walks. Fetch & Follow’s lovely dogs Frankie, George (modelling here) and Lacy have tried and tested this number made of fluffy Sherpa lining over a densely woven, water-resistant microfibre lining. Wunderdog Goldie adores all her Fetch & Follow pieces (and she has quite a few by now). £60, fetchandfollow.co.uk

 2. MB Pod

Introducing from Modernbeast: the grand pouf. Filled with 100% recycled fibre, this cloud of a bed is too comfy for words. The baby bottom-soft cover can be removed and washed. The only problem with the MB Pod is that you might end up stealing it from your dog. Sharing is caring, everyone (or buy two). Available in white, blush, light grey or navy (as shown in top image) and two sizes, from $120, modernbeast.com

3. Lavender bedtime bear

This sweet Sherpa teddy bear has a belly full of lavender, so your darling dog can go to sleep ‘dreaming of really slow squirrels’, as Modernbeast puts it. The bear is decorated with a cotton bowtie, in case he wasn’t cute enough already. If you need any more convincing that a lavender-bear for your dog is a sensible investment, Modernbeast donates 100% of the profits to animal welfare organisations, such as A Purposeful Rescue, Best Friends Animal Society and Vintage Pet Rescue. $34, modernbeast.com

4. Colour-block puffer jacket

For the coolest dog at the park, the label of choice is Ware of the Dog. Designer Jackie Rosenthal worked for people-brands such as Comme des Garçons, and started her dog collection to create some light-hearted humour and fancy designs. Her first wholesale order was from Barneys New York, so it worked out OK. The colour-block puffer jacket has Velcro at the collar and bottom, to keep the draft out. Available in burgundy, blue or green, from $74, wareofthedog.com

5. Nest sleeping bag

An all-time favourite Wunderdog brand, Cloud 7 can do no wrong. Founded by fashion designer Petra Jungebluth in 2011, her considered designs in pared-back shades and fabrics reflect the essence of dogs: gentle, honest and forever. The Nest sleeping bag is perfect for breeds that like it warm, such as whippets and dachshunds. The outer tweed is an organic hemp and cotton mix, and the lining is a mix of wool and polyester. €180, Cloud7.de
