For our first-ever “Adopt and Shop” photoshoot with rescue dogs, we packed a beautiful selection of coats, collars and leads from four British brands and headed to the kennel of All Dogs Matter. The dogs in these pictures need a home, so to slightly rephrase the saying: Adopt, then shop.
All Dogs Matter says: “Boycie is a seven-year-old staffie-collie cross, who came to us after his owner had a change of circumstances. He can live with older children and possibly a calm female dog. He may be timid at first, but quickly becomes friendly and affectionate. He would suit an active owner. He really needs a foster home quickly, as he is stressed in the kennel.” Click here for his profile.
Wunderdog says: “Boyce was fantastic to photograph – he is a hoot and a half. Not much for standing still, he just loved the attention on him. He was easy to dress and fuss over, and kept on looking at his handler for commands. He’s a fantastic dog.”
All Dogs Matter says: “Iris is an eight-year-old staffie cross, who was surrendered together with Oscar following a change in circumstances for the owner. She can live with older children and is sweet, affectionate and likes a cuddle. She knows basic commands.” See her profile here.
Wunderdogs says: “We nearly took her home because of her incredibly sweet nature. Iris was ready to go for a long walk, but when she realised we were playing dress-up, she cuddled into me when I put her coat on. She took the treats (kindly donated by Mutts & Hounds) gently and gladly cuddled up to anyone who was ready to show her some love.”
Iris wears the yellow rain jacket from Fetch & Follow, which the brand has kindly donated to Iris. Like Oscar, Iris will come into her new family readily dressed for autumn walks. She also wears a beaded collar and matching lead from a selection at Hiro + Wolf.
All Dogs Matter says: “Oscar is an eight-year-old terrier cross, who was surrendered by his owner following a change in circumstances. He can live with older children and likes a snuggle. He needs a foster home soonest.”Click here for his profile.
Wunderdogs says: “Oscar is a fantastic boy with all the terrier characteristics: playful, cheeky and super bright. He modelled with joy and loved the attention.”
He wears the red raincoat from Fetch & Follow, which the brand has kindly donated to Oscar. Like Iris, he will start his new life with a beautiful new coat, ready for autumn walkies. Oscar also wears a leather collar by Edition12 and the Shweshwe Navy Circles classic lead by Hiro + Wolf.
All Dogs Matter says: “Comet is a four-year-old lurcher boy, who was abandoned. He can live with older children and possibly a calm female. He needs a foster home as soon as possible.” Click here for his profile.
Wunderdog says: “Comet was rearing to go when we took him out of the kennel, and incredibly eager to sniff (including Bridget’s derriere, which she wasn’t sure about). Despite his curiosity, he was well mannered and let us try all sorts of collars on him. You can tell his frustration of being in a kennel on the picture – let’s hope he’ll find a proper home again soon!”
Comet wears the Shuka red hound collar and the matching Café lead from Hiro + Wolf.
All Dogs Matter says: “Bridget is a sweet seven-year-old staffie girl, who came to us after she was abandoned. She needs a foster home.” Click here for her profile.
Wunderdog says: “Bridget was super smart and obedient during our shoot. She let me dress her without any problems, and the little smile on her face was following a flank rub. She was easy to be around, and only told Comet that she wasn’t interested (but that’s a girl’s prerogative). She’s a really great dog!”
All Dogs Matter says: “Hester is a seven-year-old husky cross, who can live with older children. She prefers to be the only dog in the home. She hasn’t had much training and was abandoned, but she is smart and will pick up new tricks quickly. Hester also needs a foster home.” Click here for her profile.
Wunderdogs says: “Hester is the kind of dog you’ll turn heads within the street – in a good way. She has the looks, the walk and the bright eyes that make you want to engage with her. She was also a total goofball, rolling around on the grass and bouncing around with Boycie, whom we took out at the same time as her. Hester will need a bit more work than the other dogs, but she is so worth it and will surely pick up commands quickly.”
Hester wears the slate tweed coat from Mutts & Hounds and the Monogram bridle leather collar with matching lead by Houndworthy. In the second picture, she wears an Inca collar and leads from Hiro + Wolf.
All Dogs Matter says: “Hutch is a two-year-old staffie cross who was abandoned. He can live with older children and knows basic commands. Hutch needs a foster home.” Click here for his profile.
Wunderdog says: “Hutch will be a fantastic walking and running buddy. He was smart and responsive at our shoot. While he is a strong boy, he also knew when it was time to sit and pose.”
